A standing horse hand-turned on the lathes of Channapatna and finished in vermilion red with yellow and green folk-paint detailing across the mane and saddle. The horse is one of India's quietest folk motifs — of pilgrimage and travel; of the village fair. Coloured with non-toxic vegetable dyes and sealed with beeswax; the piece is sized for a child's palm and finished to live well on an adult's shelf. A small heirloom from a centuries-old craft.
