A practical little ensemble from the Channapatna lathe: a tabletop holder turned in peacock blue with a red interior; cradling a set of hand-painted coasters. Each piece is finished in non-toxic vegetable dyes and sealed with beeswax for a soft sheen. Slim enough to sit at the edge of a tea tray; sturdy enough for everyday use; and quietly beautiful when not in use. A small upgrade for the chai table that carries a tradition with it.
