Appu Elephant, — Green (Trunk Down 6 ")

A six-inch standing elephant with its tusk turned gently downward — a sign of grounded, protective presence, quiet and steady. Small enough to hold in the hand, with the calm authority of the village elephant. Hand-turned and painted in the folk tradition of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, the body finished in deep forest green with folk-paint accents in red and yellow.

The colour and soft sheen come from lac — melted onto the wood on the spinning lathe in Rajasthan's centuries-old lakh tradition, and burnished to a natural glow. No synthetic lacquer. Every piece is turned and painted by hand, so small variations in colour and grain are natural — the mark of genuine craft.

The surface only softens and deepens with handling. Just the right size for a study shelf, a desk, or a puja niche — warm, characterful, and quietly auspicious.
