Description+
A six-inch standing elephant with upturned tusk; hand-turned on the lathes of Channapatna and dressed in a small festival of folk colour: red head; green saddle; golden body. The raised tusk is read as a sign of welcome and abundance. Coloured with vegetable dyes and sealed with beeswax; the piece feels warm in the hand and quietly authoritative on a shelf. Mid-sized — large enough to be a focal piece on a study desk; small enough to live easily in a curated arrangement.
