An eight-inch standing elephant with upturned tusk; hand-turned on the lathes of Channapatna and finished in warm orange with a golden yellow base and red folk-paint detailing. The raised tusk reads as a sign of welcome and abundance. Coloured with vegetable dyes and sealed with beeswax; the piece carries the soft glow that only layered Channapatna lacquer produces. Substantial enough to anchor a console table; warm enough to live easily on a study shelf or in a puja niche.
