Gajraj — Handcrafted Rajasthani Lac Elephant ((Up-Tusk; 8") — Orange & Golden

An eight-inch elephant, standing tall with its tusk turned upward — a traditional sign of welcome, luck, and abundance. Hand-turned by rural artisans in Rajasthan and painted in a layered duotone: golden yellow flowing into olive green, with red folk detailing across the face. The colour and soft sheen come from lac — applied on the spinning lathe in Rajasthan's centuries-old lakh tradition, where the resin melts against the wood and is burnished to a glow.

It's a piece that ages well; the more it's handled, the deeper the wood and colour become. Every piece is made by hand, so small variations in colour and grain are natural — the mark of genuine craft, not a flaw.
