Handcrafted Elephant Stool 10 inch — Peacock Blue

A ten-inch standing elephant, broad-backed and sturdy enough to serve as a low side perch — for a trailing plant, a brass lamp, or a stack of books. Equal parts sculpture and small furniture. Hand-turned and painted in the folk tradition of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, the body finished in rich peacock blue with a red face and yellow-and-white folk detailing.

The colour and soft sheen come from lac — melted onto the wood on the spinning lathe in Rajasthan's centuries-old lakh tradition, and burnished to a natural glow. No synthetic lacquer. Every piece is turned and painted by hand, so small variations in colour and grain are natural — the mark of genuine craft.

It carries the gentle authority of the village elephant into a contemporary living room: substantial, warm, and quietly auspicious.
