The colour and soft sheen come from lac — melted onto the wood on the spinning lathe in Rajasthan's centuries-old lakh tradition, and burnished to a natural glow. No synthetic lacquer. Every piece is turned and painted by hand, so small variations in colour and grain are natural — the mark of genuine craft.
